Memba Chem Industries Private Limited. Princess Street is a real mess of traffic and people most days, but it is where we have our ground floor spot in the M.J. Co-operative Housing Society. Being at 187 Princess Street means we are right in the middle of everything. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some desks, chairs, and a lot of folders stacked on the shelves. We deal with chemicals and industrial supplies from this small space. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the street is so narrow and the trucks get stuck. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing down numbers in ledgers. It gets quite humid here, so we usually have the fans going all the time. The ground floor is good because we don't have to climb any stairs with heavy bags or samples. Our neighbors in the building are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other well enough to say hello in the mornings. It’s a busy life, and we don't have time for fancy decorations or big meetings. We just come in, do the paperwork, talk to the suppliers, and go home when the sun starts to set. It’s just how things have been for years at Memba Chem. We keep a stash of tea in the corner for when it gets too hectic. Nothing about it is like those big shiny offices you see in the magazines.
