You can find us at Gala No 779, which is inside Chawl No 98 in the Rash area of Goregaon West. We’re right near the auto rickshaw stand, so it’s always busy and there’s plenty of noise from the drivers chatting and the engines revving. Our space is more of a warehouse setup than a proper office. We deal with a lot of trading stuff, so there are boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling most days. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles sometimes. We’ve been operating out of this chawl for a good bit of time now. It’s a practical location for us because of the transport nearby. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is a bit uneven in places, but it serves its purpose. We spend our days checking manifests, loading and unloading goods, and making sure everything is going to the right place. It’s physical work and it gets quite dusty in here, especially when the wind blows through the open shutters. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that whistle a bit when they’re on high. It’s a straightforward business. We know the other folks in the chawl, and we all just get on with our day. It’s a hardworking neighborhood and we fit right in. We just keep moving the goods in and out as the orders come through the door.
