You can find Mayur Art Jewellery over in Malad East, right near the Santoshi Mata Mandir. Having the temple nearby is nice because it gives us a good point of reference when giving directions to anyone who is lost. The area gets quite crowded, especially on certain days of the week, but we like the energy of the street. Our shop isn't very large, but we have managed to fit everything we need into the space over the years. We have a couple of display cases that are a bit old now, and the chairs for customers are nothing special, just basic plastic ones. Most of our day is spent sitting and working on the jewelry, focusing on the small repairs or the assembly of new pieces. The noise from the temple bells and the traffic outside is just part of the background for us now. We usually have a tea break in the late morning when the guy from the local stall comes around. It’s a regular routine that hasn't changed much in a long time. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Malad; we just want to do our work and go home at the end of the day. The floors get dusty because of all the foot traffic outside, so we end up sweeping a lot. It’s just a normal, hardworking shop in a busy part of town.
