Max Gold

You can find us at Mumbai Central, specifically at the 6th Cross in R T Nagar Post, E/385. Max Gold is just a small place, really. It’s not one of those huge showrooms you see in the main market with guards at the door. We have a modest setup here. The building is older, and you can see the age in the bricks and the way the door creaks. Every morning, I unlock the gate and start setting things up. It’s a quiet routine. We get people coming in from all over the Mumbai Central area, some just asking for directions and some coming in for actual business. The space is a bit tight, especially when more than two people are inside at once. We’ve got a small desk and a couple of stools for visitors. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there with the door open to get some light from the street. The neighborhood has its own rhythm, with the post office nearby bringing in a lot of foot traffic. We don’t really do any big advertising. People just find us or hear about us from someone else. It’s a very straightforward way of working. We keep our ledgers by hand and spend a lot of time just waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It’s a simple life here in the 6th Cross. We don't need much, just our regular visitors and the daily grind of the city around us.
