Mast Malvani

We are located in Borivali East, specifically in the Mangalam Building over in Gopisheri Bhagal. Mumbai is always moving, and this little corner is no different. Mast Malvani is a small operation. We focus on the kind of food we grew up with. Every morning, there’s a lot of work involving coconut and spices. It’s a messy job, but it has to be done. The space inside is quite tight, so we have to be careful not to bump into each other when it's busy. We get a lot of local families who just want a quick meal without any fuss. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the street noise is always there in the background. We don't have a marketing team or someone to write fancy things for us. We just open the shutters in the morning, sweep the front, and start the stove. Sometimes the fish market is late, and that throws our whole schedule off, but we manage. People in Borivali are straightforward, and they expect the same from us. We don't pretend to be a five-star hotel. We are just a place in the neighborhood where you can hear the pressure cooker whistling and the sound of plates being stacked. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until late at night when we finally lock up the Mangalam Building for the day.
