M/s. Maniar Impex

Our office, M/s. Maniar Impex, is located in the Mulratna building at 332/334 Narshi Natha Street. Being in Masjid Bandar means it is always incredibly busy outside. The streets are narrow and full of carts and people carrying all sorts of things. We are in room 505, which gives us a bit of distance from the noise on the ground, but not much. It is a tight space, packed with ledgers and samples of what we trade. We spend a lot of our time navigating the logistics of this area. Getting things in and out of Masjid Bandar is a task in itself. We have been here long enough to know the shortcuts and which times of day are the worst for traffic. The building is old and has a lot of character, or at least that's what we tell ourselves when the elevator is slow. Inside the office, it is mostly about keeping the records straight. We have stacks of papers that need to be filed and boxes that need to be checked. It’s a lot of manual work, really. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the market prices. It is a rough and tumble kind of area, but it is where the business happens. We just keep our heads down and try to get the work done before the sun goes down and the markets close for the evening.
