Manjeet Auto Center

Our garage is located in Manjeett Compound over in Chembur. It’s right on Vaman Patil Road, not too far from Shatabdi Hospital. Most people around Lokmanya Nagar know where we are because of the sign near the entrance. It’s a bit of a gritty place, with oil stains on the concrete and old tires stacked in the corners. We spend our time fixing engines and dealing with all sorts of car trouble. It’s noisy because of the tools and the traffic outside, but we’re used to it. The team here has been working together for years. We don't have a polished waiting area with coffee or anything like that. Usually, customers just hang out and chat with us while we work. It’s a very practical environment. We have shelves full of spare parts that we've collected over time. Some days it feels like there isn't enough space for all the cars, but we manage to fit them in. The work is dirty and we often go home with grease on our clothes. It’s just how it is when you’re a mechanic. We like being in this part of Chembur because it’s always active. There is always someone who needs a quick fix or an oil change. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just want to get the vehicles back on the road. It’s basic, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until night.
