Our shop is inside the Indraprasth Shopping Centre in Borivali West, specifically units 62 and 63. Being in a shopping center means there is always a crowd, especially on the weekends when families are out. We have these glass cases filled with different pieces of jewelry, mostly things people wear for everyday or small occasions. It’s not one of those huge, intimidating jewelry stores; it’s more of a local place where people feel okay just stopping by to look. The lights are bright so people can see the details of the metal and the stones. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass because of all the fingerprints. Usually, we are busy showing people different designs or explaining how a clasp works. It can get a bit loud with the noise from the other shops and the people walking through the corridors of Indraprasth. We’ve been here long enough that we know many of the other shop owners nearby. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things are quiet, but that doesn't happen too often. It’s a lot of standing and talking to people about what they like. We keep a ledger for the sales and everything is done in a very straightforward way. No big marketing campaigns, just us sitting in the shop and waiting for customers to find something they want to take home. It’s been our daily routine for many years now in Borivali.
