Maharashtra State Faculty Development Academy

You can find us on the 18th floor of the World Trade Centre in Cuffe Parade. Even though it’s a famous address, our office at Centre-1 is actually quite plain. We focus on training faculty members from all across the state of Maharashtra. It’s a big job with a lot of moving parts, but we keep our day-to-day operations very simple. The view from the 18th floor is nice, but most of the time we are too busy to look out the windows. The office is filled with rows of desks and a few small rooms where we hold our meetings. It feels like a typical government or academic space—lots of files, whiteboards with scribbled notes, and the hum of computers. We don't have a big budget for fancy furniture, so everything is very functional. People come from all over for our sessions, so there’s always a mix of different people in the hallways. We don't have a formal greeting process. If you walk in, someone will just point you to the right desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing out schedules. It’s hard work, and the days can be long, especially when we have a big training program running. We don’t bother with marketing or trying to look corporate. We just want to make sure the teachers who come here get what they need and go home happy.
