We operate out of 26 Masjid, specifically at Ambica Terrace near Dana Bunder. If you know the Masjid area, you know it is one of the busiest parts of the city. There are trucks everywhere and people carrying loads on their heads all day long. Our office isn’t much to look at, just a functional space where we handle the paperwork for the roadways. Being near Dana Bunder is essential for what we do because that’s where all the action is. The building, Ambica Terrace, has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and it gets the job done. The noise from the port and the railway station nearby never really stops. You get used to the shouting and the sound of heavy engines idling outside. Maharashtra M P Roadways is basically run from a few desks covered in ledgers and receipts. We don’t have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, and the tea comes from the guy on the corner in little plastic cups. It’s a tough environment, but it’s honest work. We deal with drivers and loaders and other businesses in the same trade. There isn't any polished talk here, just figuring out where the trucks are and when they will arrive. It’s a very practical way to spend a workday in a place that feels like the heart of Mumbai’s old trade district. That's just how we get things done.
