If you head down Anthonys Road in Chembur and turn onto Dev Darshan Street, you’ll find us at number six. It’s a quiet enough corner compared to the main roads nearby. We’ve been operating out of this building for years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up fine. Inside, it’s mostly just us doing our jobs. We get patients from all over this part of Chembur. Some have been coming to see us since they were kids. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to the layout, but we usually point people in the right direction. The front door sticks a little when it rains. We spend a lot of time on our feet, checking on people in the wards. There’s always someone at the desk, even if they’re buried under folders. We don't have those fancy touchscreens or anything, just regular charts and pens. It’s a practical place. We deal with the usual stuff like fevers and minor injuries most days. Sometimes it gets stressful when many people show up at once, but we just take it one person at a time. The staff brings lunch from home and we eat in the small back room when there’s a break. It feels like a real community spot here. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local hospital for the people around Dev Darshan Street.
