Macon Design

We’ve been operating out of the B. K. Chhabra Compound near the Vakola Bridge for a while now. Santacruz East is where we call home. It’s a busy area, but we like it here. People often ask what we actually do at Macon Design, and mostly it’s just getting on with the projects that come through the door. We don't have a big fancy office or a receptionist. It’s just a workspace where we focus on the drawing and planning. Most days are pretty similar, starting with tea and looking at whatever is on the desk. The traffic around the bridge can be a bit much in the evenings, but you get used to it. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just enjoy the work we do. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have several things going at once, but that's just how it goes in a small shop. If you know the area, you know how hard parking can be around here. We just try to keep our heads down and finish things on time. It's not always easy keeping up with everything, but we manage. We’ve known the neighbors in the compound for years. It feels more like a community than just a place of business. Just a local spot doing our thing every day. Nothing too complicated. It works for us.
