If you walk down Kesar Kutir Road in Goregaon West, you’ll find us right on the ground floor, just across from the Jain Temple. Being at 77/12 means we hear the temple bells throughout the day, which is a nice change from the constant grinding of the tools. It’s a tight space, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need into this workshop. Usually, there’s a pile of iron rods or some half-finished components sitting near the entrance. The heat in Mumbai doesn't make the work any easier, especially with the machines running, so we keep the fans going at full speed. People from the neighborhood stop by often, sometimes just to say hello or to ask for a small repair on something they brought from home. We don’t really do fancy meetings. Most of our discussions happen right there on the shop floor while we’re looking at a piece of steel. The floor is never really clean for long, no matter how much we sweep. Working in Goregaon means there’s always something happening outside our door, and the traffic on the road never seems to stop. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever task is on the bench that day. It's a simple life of measuring, cutting, and fixing things until it's time to lock up and head out into the evening rush. It is a bit loud and messy, but that's what engineering work looks like here in the city.
