Down in Colaba, at Po 560-B, you’ll find our shop called Lucky Time. We mostly deal with watches and clocks, which is why the name is what it is. It’s a small space, and the air is usually filled with the sound of many different clocks ticking at the same time. Some people find it annoying, but we find it quite peaceful after all these years. We’ve been here in Colaba for a long time, and the shop has a bit of an old-world feel to it. There’s a lot of dust on the higher shelves because we don’t get up there very often unless we have to. Most of the work involves changing batteries or fixing straps while people wait. We have a small workbench in the back with all the tiny tools spread out. It’s not a modern showroom with bright lights; it’s more like a cluttered workshop where we actually fix things. We see a lot of tourists passing by the door, but our regulars are the local residents who have been coming to us for decades. Sometimes a repair takes longer than expected because parts are hard to find for the older models people bring in. We don't hurry much; we just take our time to do it right. The shop is small and can only fit a few people at once. It’s just a quiet place where time moves at its own pace and we keep our heads down.
