Ltmg Hospital Sion

Sion is a crowded place, especially around the hospital. We are over here at the MSW department, which is room number 12. If you walk through the main gates of Ltmg Hospital, you’ll see people everywhere. It is a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. Our spot is inside Sion East, and mostly we deal with the social work side of things. It’s not a quiet office by any means. There’s always someone coming in with papers or asking for directions to another wing. The building shows its age, but it’s where everything happens. We spend most of our time sitting at old wooden desks surrounded by files. The fans keep spinning but it stays warm because of the crowd. Outside, the traffic on the main road never really stops. You can hear the horns all day long. We have been here for a long time now. People come from different parts of the city because they know the hospital. It’s a very public space. We don’t have fancy waiting rooms or leather chairs. It’s just benches and concrete floors. You see the same faces every morning when the shifts change. It’s a busy life here in Sion. We just try to get through the paperwork and help whoever walks through the door. It’s practical work. Nothing fancy about it at all. Just a regular part of the hospital machinery in this part of Mumbai.
