Veenar Fashions

Veenar Fashions is tucked away in the Adhyaru Industrial Premises, specifically units 202 and 203. Lower Parel is a busy area, and being in an industrial building means we see a lot of different businesses coming and going. Our space is functional. We have rows of tables where the cutting and sewing happens. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a showroom. Most of our day is spent looking at patterns and handling fabric. The windows are high up, so we get some light, but we mostly rely on the overhead tubes. Sometimes the lift in the building breaks down, and we have to carry rolls of cloth up the stairs, which is quite a workout. We don't really do much advertising. People who need our work usually know where to find us. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy with the actual work to worry about that. There’s a small corner where we keep the kettle and some cups for tea breaks. That’s where most of the talking happens. We talk about the weather or the traffic on the way in. It’s a plain, honest workspace. We focus on getting the measurements right and finishing the batches on time. It gets hot in the summer months, but we have some fans that keep the air moving. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
