Super Knit Industries

Super Knit Industries is tucked away at 348 in the A-Z Industrial Estate on G. K. Marg. Being in Lower Parel West means we’re right in the heart of everything. The building is one of those old-school industrial estates with the heavy cargo lifts and narrow corridors. It can be a bit of a trek to get up to our unit if the lift is busy, but we don't mind. Inside, it’s a different world. We have our knitting machines lined up, and they make a steady rhythmic sound all day long. It’s almost soothing once you get used to it. We deal with all kinds of knits, and there are always heaps of yarn in every color imaginable sitting around. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. We don’t have any polished sales pitches or a fancy lobby. If you come to see us, you’ll likely find us with our sleeves rolled up, working right alongside everyone else. The heat in Mumbai can be tough, especially in an old building like this, but we have enough fans to keep the air moving. We’ve been in the A-Z estate for a long time and we know all the other shop owners around us. It’s a tight-knit community, no pun intended. We just focus on our machines and making sure the quality is what it should be. It’s a decent life and we’re happy to be here.
