Lords Universal College

Living and working in Goregaon West is always a bit of a rush. Our place, Lords Universal College, is tucked into the ground floor of Akanksha Tower. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets right opposite the station road. There is always the sound of local trains and people shouting for rickshaws just outside the door. It makes the office a bit noisy, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend a lot of time managing the crowds of students who come in from the station. The 400062 zip code is one of the more packed parts of Mumbai, so space is always tight. We have our desks set up near the entrance and the classrooms are just down the hall. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles with the Mumbai humidity, but we manage with extra fans. People walk in all day asking for forms or directions. We don't have a big campus with trees and grass, just the reality of a busy building in a busy city. It’s practical. You finish your work, step outside, and you’re right in the middle of the Goregaon market. It’s convenient for the kids who travel from far away on the Western line. We mostly focus on keeping the schedule on track and making sure the registers are signed. It's just a regular day at the tower, dealing with the daily chaos and getting the teaching done. We keep things moving without too much fuss.
