Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Gen Hospital

This is the municipal hospital in Sion. It’s a very busy place, almost every hour of the day. If you’ve ever walked through Sion, you probably know the building. We handle a huge number of people coming from all over the city. It’s a government-run spot, so it’s always crowded and can feel a bit chaotic if you aren't used to it. There are stretchers moving through the halls and people waiting in long lines for the OPD. We don't have many frills here. The walls might need a fresh coat of paint and the fans hum quite loudly in the wards. But the doctors and nurses here work long shifts because there is always someone needing help. We see everything from minor injuries to very serious cases that come into the trauma ward. It’s a place that never really sleeps. Even at three in the morning, the lights are on and someone is being admitted. We deal with a lot of paperwork because that's how the system works. It’s not a quiet or fancy environment, but it serves the purpose for thousands of families who can't go to expensive private clinics. We just try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s hard work and the building shows its age, but it’s an important part of life here in Sion. We are just here doing the job day in and day out.
