You can find A. K. Motiwala at No. 145 in Lohar Chawl. This part of Mumbai is famous for being very crowded and full of shops selling all kinds of things. Our building is quite old, like most of the structures in this area. We deal with jewelry and stones, and we have been in this spot for many years. Lohar Chawl is a maze of lanes, and it can be a bit overwhelming if you are not used to it. There are always people moving goods on wooden carts and a lot of shouting from the street vendors outside. Inside our shop, things are a bit more quiet, though the noise from the street still filters in. We have old wooden counters and a few stools where customers can sit. We are not interested in making the place look like a fancy boutique. We just focus on the items we have and the people who come to see them. Many of our customers are old friends of the family who have been buying from us for a long time. We do not do any big promotions or use social media much. We just open up the shop every day and see who stops by. It is a bit of a tight space when there are more than two or three people inside, but that is just how it is in this part of town.
