We operate out of Rachana Apartments on L.J. Road, right in the Mahim area of Mumbai. It’s tucked away in Bhandar Galli, which is usually quite crowded with people going about their business. Working for Larsen And Toubro Ltd from a residential-style building like this makes the day feel a bit different than being in a huge glass tower. We’ve got our office at number 12/2. It’s a simple setup, mostly just desks, chairs, and a few fans to keep the Mumbai heat at bay. Sometimes the stairs get a bit dusty from all the foot traffic in the building. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, there are papers everywhere. Being in the 400016 area means we’re close to everything, which is handy for getting supplies or grabbing a quick lunch nearby. We don’t have a big reception desk or anyone in a suit greeting people. It’s usually just one of us looking up from a computer when someone knocks on the door. The windows look out over the street, so there's always the sound of horns and people talking downstairs. It’s not a quiet library, that’s for sure. We just focus on the jobs we have to finish for the day. Some of us have been working at this Mahim location for a long time. It’s just our regular spot where the work happens, day in and day out. Nothing more to it really. We just keep the files moving and stay busy throughout the whole week.
