Lakhani Traders

Lakhani Traders has been tucked away in Lehri House for quite some time now. We are at Shop Number 8 and 9, right on Dhobi Gali Number 74. If you’ve ever walked down Mohammad Ali Road, you know how packed the streets are. It’s a mess of people and carts most of the time. Our shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of the walls to stack our goods. We mostly trade in various items that people need for their shops or homes. It gets a bit dark in the back of the store, so we have a couple of tube lights that flick on and off sometimes. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is hidden. When the monsoon hits, we have to be careful about the rain coming in from the street, but the building is old and sturdy. Usually, we are busy answering the phone or writing out bills by hand. There’s always someone stopping by for a chat or to ask for directions since we are in such a busy spot. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get new deliveries in, but we manage to shift things around. Lehri House has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. We just focus on getting through the day's orders and making sure the boxes get where they need to go. It’s just how things are here.
