We are located in the Shankala Industrial Estate over in Goregaon East. Our unit is on the third floor, which means we spend a lot of time waiting for the freight elevator when supplies come in. Gogatewadi is a busy area, so getting a truck in and out can be a real nightmare sometimes. Inside, the space is packed with lathes and milling machines. There isn't much room to walk around once all the materials arrive. We do a lot of small-scale engineering work, mostly specialized parts that people bring in sketches for. It’s noisy and there is always the sound of metal cutting metal. We keep a pot of tea going in the back for whoever needs a break. The windows are usually covered in a bit of grime from the street, but they let in enough light to see what we are doing. We don’t really do advertising; the work comes in because someone knows someone who used us before. We have a few old calendars on the wall and a lot of heavy toolboxes that haven't been moved in years. It’s just a regular workshop where we show up, do the machining, and try to get the orders delivered before the weekend starts. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet, but it’s what we know how to do best.
