We work out of Building No 290, which is Anand Bhavan on D K Marg in the Fort area. We are right across the street from Emca House. Being in Fort means we are surrounded by all those old colonial-style buildings and very narrow streets. It can be a real headache to get trucks in and out of here, but we have figured it out over the years. Our office is a bit old-fashioned, with high ceilings and fans that creak as they spin. We have stacks of files and old transport logs piled up on the shelves. Most of the day is spent on the phone talking to drivers who are stuck in traffic or trying to find where a shipment has gone. It gets pretty humid in here, and the light from the windows isn't always great. We have a few old wooden chairs for when people come in to settle their bills or talk about a delivery. There is no air conditioning, so we just keep the windows open and listen to the street noise. It is a very busy part of town, and there is a lot of pressure to keep things on schedule, but we just take it one day at a time. We have been at this address for a long time now and are a familiar sight on D K Marg. It is a straightforward business with no frills. It’s a bit of a walk from the station.
