Kurries & Burries

You can find us over at 29 A in the Jethabhai Govindji Building. We are right on Dr A R Rangnekar Road, which is pretty much right across from the Merchants Club at Girgaon Chowpatty. Being so close to the beach means we see all sorts of people walking by every day. Mumbai is a fast city and Girgaon Chowpatty is one of those places that never really seems to sleep. We started Kurries & Burries because we wanted a place where people could get something to eat without a lot of fuss. The building itself is an older one and has that classic Mumbai feel to it. Inside, it is usually a bit of a scramble in the kitchen, especially on weekends when the crowds come down to the water. We handle a mix of different foods because that is what people around here seem to want. It is not about being a five-star place or having fancy tablecloths. It is more about having a spot to sit for a bit and grab a bite while you are out. The fans are usually humming and there is always the smell of something cooking on the stove. We have our good days and our busy days like anyone else. Sometimes we run out of things or the delivery is late, but we just keep going. It is just us here trying to run a small business in a very big city. We hope you stop by next time you are at the beach.
