Kurla Bhabha Hospital

You can find us on the first floor over on New Mill Road in Kurla West. It’s a busy part of town, and the street outside is always packed with people and shops. Being on the first floor means there's always a bit of a climb up the stairs, and you can hear the noise from the ground floor coming up. It’s not a quiet, sterile environment like you see in the movies. It’s a working hospital. We’ve got a lot of history in this building. The walls could probably tell some stories if they could talk. We don't have a lot of extra space, so things are tucked into corners, and every room gets used for something. It’s just how things work in Kurla. We don't have a PR person writing fancy things about us. We’re just local staff trying to keep up with the number of people who need help. Sometimes the fans rattle a bit, and we have to tighten a screw here or there. It’s a very human place. We see people from all walks of life coming through. Some are just here for a quick check-up, others stay longer. We don't make any big promises or showy claims. We just open up every morning and see who needs us. It's a bit hectic, but it's our job. We often share tea in the back when there is a short break in the afternoon. It is just our little corner of Mumbai, really.
