Kristeel Shinwa Industries Ltd

Our place is called Krislon House and it sits on Saki Vihar Road in the Sakinaka area of Andheri East. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, and there’s always something happening right outside our gates. Inside, we make measuring tools like steel rulers and tapes. It’s a mix of an old-fashioned factory and a busy office. You can hear the machines thumping from the ground floor, which is a sound we’ve all grown very used to. The building has been here for a long time, and it feels like it. We have some heavy machinery and a lot of steel stock that needs moving around. It’s a bit cramped in some spots, but we have a system that works for us. Most of the people working here have stayed for many years, so it feels more like a community than just a company. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. You just come in and ask for whoever you need to see. Lunchtime is when everyone gathers to eat and talk about their families or the cricket scores. It’s an honest, hardworking environment. We focus on making sure every ruler we make is accurate because that’s what people expect from us. We don’t do much in the way of promotion; the work we do usually speaks for itself in the shops. It's just what we do every single day here.
