Krishna Art Jewellery is situated on the ground floor of Fatwat Manzil, which is inside Godrej Baug in Chembur West. Being on the ground floor is quite helpful because we don’t have to deal with stairs when carrying boxes or supplies in and out. The building has that old Chembur feel to it, and Godrej Baug is a familiar landmark for most people around here. We spend our days surrounded by various bits of metal and stones, trying to keep everything tidy even though it gets messy pretty fast when we are in the middle of a project. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, so we have extra lamps at our workstations to see what we are doing. The neighbors in the building are friendly enough, and we often see the same faces walking by the window every morning. We don't really do much in the way of advertising; we just stay open and wait for people to come in. The space is filled with the smell of polish and the sound of small hammers hitting metal. It is a honest way to earn a living, and we have been in this spot long enough that the commute feels like second nature now. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of the orders that come through. It’s not a glamorous setup, just a workspace that fits our needs.
