Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital

Our hospital is over in Four Bungalows, Andheri West. It’s a massive place, almost like a small city on its own. Because of where we are, the streets outside are always jammed with rickshaws and cars. Inside, it’s a constant stream of people coming through the main doors. We have so many different departments and floors that even we get turned around sometimes. It’s a high-energy environment where something is always happening, whether it’s a shift change or someone being rushed in. The waiting areas are huge, but they still feel full most of the time. People travel from all over the city, and even from outside, to come here. It’s a lot of responsibility for the staff. We spend long hours on our feet, moving between wards and offices. It isn’t the kind of place where things stay quiet for long. The canteen is usually buzzing with talk, and the elevators are always packed. We try to keep the floors shiny and the machines running, but it’s a big task given how many people use them every day. Andheri West is a lively neighborhood, and the hospital reflects that pace. It’s a place where serious work happens around the clock. We don’t have much time for small talk, but we try to keep things moving as smoothly as possible for the families waiting in the halls. It is just a very big, busy medical center.
