Our school is tucked away in Yuba House, over in the Sunder Baug area of Kamani in Kurla West. This part of Mumbai is a mix of small workshops, homes, and little businesses all squeezed together. Finding us for the first time might take a minute if you aren't familiar with the narrow lanes around Sunder Baug, but once you know the way, it’s easy enough. The building is a simple structure, and we occupy the space that used to be for other things before it became a school. It is a very local atmosphere here. You hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long—people talking, cars honking, and the general hum of Kurla. We don't have a massive campus with grass and trees, but we use what we have in Yuba House to the best of our ability. The rooms are clean and we try to keep them cool during the hot months. Most of our students live within walking distance, so the mornings are always full of kids walking through the lanes to get to the entrance. It is a very grounded place. We don't try to be something we aren't; we are just a local school providing a place for kids to get an education right in their own community. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real part of the city to be in every single day.
