Kirtikumar & Co

We have been here at 328/325 Kalbadevi for quite a long time now. It’s a busy area as anyone who knows this part of town can tell you. Most days start early with the tea stalls opening up nearby and the noise of the traffic picking up. Kirtikumar & Co isn't fancy, we just have our space here and we get on with the work. It gets quite crowded in the afternoons, sometimes it’s hard to even walk down the street without bumping into someone. We know most of the people around here by name. It’s just how it is in this neighborhood. The building itself is old and has seen a lot of changes over the years. We’ve had to fix things here and there, the wiring is a bit messy but it works. Sometimes the fans make too much noise in the summer. We mostly just focus on what needs to be done each day. Customers come in and out, some stay to chat, others are in a big rush. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of things on paper mostly. We don’t really do the whole modern office thing with the fancy glass doors. It’s just a solid place where we show up every morning. We’ve seen the shops around us change hands many times, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s familiar. Sometimes it’s tiring, especially when the monsoon hits and the roads get messy, but it’s home for us.
