Kim Sim Creation Private Limited

Kim Sim Creation is based out of the Gundecha Industrial Estate in Kandivali East. We are in Shop No 134 on the first floor. To get here, you have to come down Akruli Road, which is always packed with rickshaws and people heading to the station. The estate is a big complex with lots of different businesses, so there is always something going on. Our shop is usually filled with fabrics and patterns strewn across the tables. We do a lot of the creative work right here on the floor. It’s not a polished office with glass walls; it’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. The floor is concrete and we have these big windows that let in some light, but they also let in all the dust from the road. We have a couple of machines that are always humming in the background. Sometimes the power cuts out for a minute and everything goes quiet, which is a bit strange. We spend a lot of time talking about designs and how to cut the material just right. It’s a lot of trial and error. We usually have lunch together at the big table in the middle of the room. It’s a practical space for practical work. We’ve been in Kandivali for a bit now and we know the tea guy downstairs pretty well. He knows exactly how we like our ginger chai.
