N. M. Boutique

You can find N. M. Boutique at Shop No. 1 in A. B. House. We are located on 33rd Road in Old Khar West, which is a nice part of town. It’s a small shop, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it over the years. We spend most of our days among piles of fabric and half-finished dresses. It’s not a big glamorous fashion house, just a local spot where people come to get things made or fixed. Sometimes the shop is a bit messy with threads on the floor and scraps of cloth everywhere, but that’s how we work. We have a couple of tailors who have been with us for a while. We don't do much advertising; most people just hear about us from their neighbors or walk in while they're out in Khar. The 33rd Road can get quite busy with cars and people, but it’s a good spot to be. We handle everything from simple alterations to making something for a special occasion. We try to be fair with our prices and honest about how long things will take. Sometimes we get behind schedule if a machine breaks down or if we’re waiting for a specific button or lace to arrive. But we always try to make it right for the customer. It’s just us, working away in our little corner of Mumbai. We like the local vibe here and the regular faces we see every day. It feels like home to us and we stay late.
