Khar Social

Khar Social is situated in Rohan Plaza, which is on 5th Road just off S V Road in Khar West. If you’re looking for us, we are right opposite Hoppipola. This part of Mumbai is always moving, and our spot in Mumbai 400052 is no different. It’s a big space that we have to look after. Every day starts with checking the sound system and making sure all the seating areas are tidy. We have different levels and corners, so it takes a bit of time to get everything ready. It’s a bit of a mix here; sometimes it feels like a workspace and other times it’s just a place to hang out. We aren't a corporate office, just a local spot where people come to spend their time. The staff here is mostly local, and we deal with the usual Mumbai rain and humidity by keeping the place as open as possible. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a bunch of people working. The kitchen is always busy, and the bar gets a lot of use. We see all kinds of people, from students to folks working on laptops. It’s a bit loud sometimes because of the music and the street noise, but that’s Khar for you. We just focus on keeping the doors open and making sure the orders go out correctly. It’s a lot of work to manage such a large room, but we’re used to it by now.
