Kem Hospital

The Department of Paediatric Surgery is located in the Old Building of KEM Hospital in Parel. This part of the hospital has been around for a long time, and you can see it in the architecture and the wear on the floors. We handle all the surgical cases for children here. It’s a very busy department, and the schedule is always full. We don’t have any marketing materials or polished corporate brochures. Our work is done in the operating theaters and the wards. The hallways are often crowded with families waiting for news. It’s a serious place, and the atmosphere reflects that. The surgeons and the nursing team are always on the move. We don’t have fancy amenities or comfortable waiting areas. It’s just a practical, hard-working part of a large public hospital. We talk to parents in a straightforward way about what their children need. There isn't any room for fluff or promotional talk when you're dealing with surgery. We focus on the procedures and the recovery of the kids. The building might be old and the paint might be chipping in spots, but the medical care is what we prioritize. We’ve been here in the Old Building for years, doing our best to help the children who are brought to us from all over. It’s just the daily life of a surgeon here in Parel.
