Kem Hospital

This is the Department of Paediatrics at KEM Hospital, specifically Ward 1 n. Our section is dedicated to the kids who come here for treatment. Like the rest of the hospital on Acharya Donde Marg, it’s a very busy and crowded place. We have rows of beds for the children, and usually, there’s a parent or relative squeezed in next to each one. It’s not a quiet or fancy ward. There’s the sound of babies crying and the constant movement of the medical staff. We don’t have any of those colorful murals or play areas you might see in a private hospital. We just have the medical essentials and a lot of patients to see. The staff here works long hours and it’s often very stressful, but they keep coming back because the kids need them. We don’t do any promotional stuff. Our "about us" is just the reality of Ward 1 n every day. We deal with all kinds of illnesses and injuries. Sometimes we run out of space and have to make do. It’s an old building and the facilities are basic, but the doctors know their stuff. We just focus on getting these children well enough to go back to their families. It’s a tough environment, but it’s where we work and what we do for the people of Mumbai every single day.
