Our office is located at 206 2 Shiv Mahal, which is right on the first floor along Sion Main Road in Sion East. If you know Mumbai 400 022, you know this area stays busy from early morning until late at night. Kavi Engineers Consultants has been operating from this same spot for years, and the walls are covered with old charts and notes from past jobs. The main road outside is never silent, so we have gotten used to the constant honking and the sound of buses passing by. It is a practical space, filled with heavy desks and a lot of technical books that have been sitting on the shelves for a long time. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to greet you with a script. Usually, someone just looks up from their computer and asks how they can help. The floor tiles are a bit worn down in the spots where we walk the most, and the pantry is just a small corner with a kettle and some biscuits. We find that this simple setup works best for us because it keeps the focus on the actual work. Getting to the office involves navigating the Sion traffic, but once we are inside Shiv Mahal, it feels like our own little world. We spend our days looking at figures and talking through problems, often staying late when a deadline is breathing down our necks.
