Kapil H Shah

Our place, Kapil H Shah, is located at 34 Masjid Bunder West, right in the heart of the New Cloth Market. We are in the Steel Yard House, which is directly opposite the Giriraj Building. It’s an incredibly crowded area, full of porters and trucks and people selling all kinds of things. We’ve been in this spot for years, dealing with trade and various goods. The office itself is small and packed with files and old ledgers. It feels like time has stood still a bit inside our walls, even though the market outside is always changing. We don't have a big staff. It's usually just a few of us handling the paperwork and talking to clients who drop by. The noise from the street is constant, but it’s the sound of business getting done. We don't go for anything modern or polished. The desks are old wood and the fans are always humming to keep the heat away. It's a lot of work keeping track of everything in such a busy environment. We know the other traders around the New Cloth Market well. Sometimes we just sit outside for a bit and watch the chaos of Masjid Bunder go by. We don't do any self-promotion. If someone needs to find us, they know where we are. It’s a traditional way of working, based on long-term relationships and just showing up every morning.
