Kanishka Veg Restaurant

Kanishka Veg Restaurant is tucked away on Tardeo Road in Mumbai. It’s a really busy area, especially being right at Haji Ali Circle. You’ve got the Heera Panna Shopping Centre just across from us, so there are always people walking around looking for things to buy. Mumbai is a city that never slows down, and Tardeo is right in the thick of it. Our restaurant is strictly vegetarian, and we’ve been here at 5/B for quite a while. The space isn't huge, but we make it work. During the lunch rush, it gets pretty tight in here with everyone trying to find a seat. We don't have a big corporate office or a PR team. It’s just us in the kitchen and at the counter. We start early, before the traffic really gets bad, to get the lentils and vegetables prepped. The noise from the street is constant—horns, buses, and people shouting. You get used to it after a few years. We know the shopkeepers from Heera Panna and the taxi drivers who park nearby. We don't offer anything fancy, just standard food that people in Mumbai like to eat daily. Sometimes we run out of space and people have to wait on the sidewalk. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s how things are in this part of town. We just keep the lights on and the food coming for whoever walks in. It is a long day for all of us here.
