Kamdar Hiring

Kamdar Hiring is located at 108 Masjid Kansara Chawl, inside the Vyapar Bhuvan building. This is a very old part of the city and it stays very crowded almost all day. If you know the area, you know how busy the lanes can be. We are mostly involved in finding workers and helping people get jobs where they are needed. Our office is small and tucked away in the chawl. It’s a bit of a walk through the market to get here. We have a lot of people coming in and out every day asking for work. We keep track of everything in big registers and some folders. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to keep things moving. The building has a lot of history and you can hear the noise from the market all the time. Sometimes we have tea with the other shop owners nearby. It’s a very local way of doing things. We have been in this spot for years and don't really see ourselves moving. It’s practical for what we do because the people we work with are already in this neighborhood. There is no air conditioning, just the ceiling fans, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us and the people who come to see us for work.
