Our office is located at 30/1 on B C Marg, right by Shastri Chowk in Akshay Nagar. You can find us pretty easily because we are right near the Dena Bank branch, which everyone knows. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming and going at odd hours, so there is always a bit of dust in the air. We have a small desk where we keep all the logbooks and receipts piled up. Most of the time, the fan is just humming and we are on the phone trying to figure out where a driver has parked for the night. We handle a lot of local transport and moving things around Shank Chembur and further out. It isn’t the quietest job because of the honking outside on the main road, but we are used to it by now. My cousin usually handles the afternoon shift while I go out to check on the vehicles. We don’t use any of those fancy tracking apps, just a lot of phone calls and knowing the routes by heart. Sometimes the rain slows things down and we just sit here drinking chai waiting for the roads to clear up. The walls have old calendars hanging on them and the floor is a bit scuffed from moving crates around. We just focus on getting the loads delivered without too much trouble for anyone. It is a plain business and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is.
