Sukee Fashion Jewelry is up on the 3rd floor at Office No. 8e in No. 35 Ram Wadi on Kalbadevi Road. Being on the third floor means we don't get many people just wandering in off the street. Most people come specifically to see us. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift isn’t working, but we are used to it. The office is small and filled with jewelry cases and storage boxes. We spend a lot of time looking at small pieces and checking them over. Kalbadevi is a very busy area, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. A small desk is where we do all our paperwork. It’s not a big corporate office, just a practical place to work. We have been in Ram Wadi for several years now. Sometimes it gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, but we have a fan that helps. Not much is done in terms of decorating. We focus on the jewelry and making sure we know where everything is kept. It’s a lot of squinting and sorting through tiny items. Our hours are mostly our own. It’s a steady kind of job. We aren't trying to change the world, just running our jewelry business from a small room on the third floor. I usually make some tea around four o'clock and that's when things slow down a bit. We just keep at it and hope for the best. It's not fancy but it's ours.
