Jw Fashion is tucked away in the Ashok Compound. We are at Gala No. 6, No. 144. This is part of the Thakkar Industry area in Sion. If you've been to Sion, you know it's a hub for small businesses and workshops. Our space is basically one large room where everything happens. We do a lot of garment work here. It’s noisy because of the machines and the other workshops nearby. You can hear metal clanging and people shouting orders all day. We’ve been in this gala for several years. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a typical industrial unit. Inside, we have racks of clothes and rolls of fabric. We work with different materials depending on what the season is. The air can get quite warm in the afternoons, but we keep the fans on high. We aren't a corporate office with fancy furniture. We have some sturdy tables and old chairs. It’s about the work, not the decor. Most of our days are spent cutting and sewing and packing things into boxes. We know the other business owners in the compound. We help each other out if someone needs a tool or extra hands. It’s a gritty place but we like it. We focus on getting the clothes made and sent out to the shops. It's not always easy, but we've built a life here. There's a chai stall nearby that keeps us going when the work piles up.
