Just Around The Corner

This place has been at the junction of 24th and 30th road in Bandra West for a long time. Being right opposite St. Teresa’s School means we see a lot of kids and parents every single day. The ground floor of Cyrus House stays pretty cool even when it is hot outside in Mumbai. We start early in the morning, usually before the school bell rings. It's a busy corner, and we are just a small part of it. Most of our regulars live right here in the neighborhood. They come in for a quick bite or just to sit for a minute. We don't do anything too complicated here. It is just about getting the food out on time and keeping the tables wiped down. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, but that’s just how Bandra is. We have a few staff members who have stayed with us for years. We know most people’s names when they walk through the door. It isn't a big corporate setup, just us trying to run a decent place. The kitchen is small but we make it work. Every afternoon there is a bit of a rush when school lets out. We just try to keep up with the orders. It’s a lot of hours on our feet, but we like being part of this street. We make sure the floor is mopped and the lights are on. That's about it.
