Our workshop is at No. 3 in the Premsons Industrial Estate, right on Caves Road. If you know Jogeshwari East, you know how packed this area can get. The estate itself is always humming with the sound of different businesses doing their thing. We have several sewing machines lined up, and the rhythmic clicking is the background music to our day. It’s a bit cramped with all the fabric and the finished garments hanging up or folded into bins. We focus on getting the stitching right, even if it takes a bit longer. The ventilation isn't great, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Sometimes the dust from the industrial estate gets in, but that’s just how it is here. We deal with a lot of different people, from suppliers bringing in thread to the guys who pick up the final packages. There’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around, which can be tiring in the Mumbai heat. We take short breaks to stand outside and get some air when it gets too stuffy inside. The team here is like a small family, we’ve worked together for a long time and know each other’s habits. We don’t have a fancy entrance or a receptionist; you just walk in and find us working. It’s a practical place where we just focus on the clothes and getting them finished.
