Jj Hospital

Being located on J J Marg in Nagpada, right near Mumbai Central, means there is always something going on around us. This hospital has been a fixture here for a long time. It’s a big place, and sometimes the hallways feel like they never end. We are situated off Jijabhoy Road, which is almost always crowded with people and cars. Working here, you get used to the constant hum of the city. We see all kinds of people coming through our doors every hour of the day and night. It’s not the quietest environment, but it’s where we are. The building itself shows its age in some spots, but it holds a lot of history. We don't spend much time worrying about how the lobby looks. We are too busy moving from one ward to another. It’s a practical place for people who need help. The staff here are usually in a hurry, carrying charts or pushing trolleys. It’s just the nature of a place this size in the heart of Mumbai. We deal with the heat and the crowds just like everyone else on the street outside. There is a lot of walking involved in a shift here. You learn the shortcuts through the different wings pretty quickly. It’s a grit-and-determination kind of place. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done for the patients. It is a long day for everyone, but we manage somehow.
