Our shop is tucked away in the lobby of the Oberoi Towers, specifically at L-26. It’s a bit of a different environment being inside a hotel, compared to a street-side market. We see a lot of people coming and going, travelers mostly, and guests staying upstairs. The space is small, but we make it work. We spend a lot of our time dealing with paperwork and checking on shipments, as that’s the main part of what we do here. It’s not always exciting, but it keeps us busy through the day. Sometimes the lobby gets really quiet in the afternoons, and other times it’s packed with people checking in. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. You get used to the sounds of the hotel, the background music, and the people talking. We don’t really do big advertising or anything. Most people just find us while they’re walking through the lobby to get to the elevators. We keep things simple in the shop. It’s mostly just us handling the daily tasks and making sure everything is where it should be. We’ve seen the hotel change over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It’s a steady job, and we like being in this part of the city. It’s convenient for us, and the air conditioning is a nice break from the weather outside. It feels safe and organized here compared to the busy streets.
