JICON INDUSTRIES

Our workshop is located over in the Sarita Estate, right off that busy Andheri-Kurla Road in Mumbai. If you have ever driven through the Jarimari area, you know the traffic can be a real headache most days. We have been at 37-D for a good stretch of time now. JICON INDUSTRIES is not some glass-tower office; it is a real working industrial unit where things actually get made by hand. The machines make a decent amount of noise throughout the day, but it is a sound we have grown to like. It usually means work is happening and things are getting done. We have a small crew of people who really know their way around the shop floor. Sometimes the heat in Mumbai gets a bit much, especially in the humid afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. It is not always perfectly organized, and there are days when the raw materials seem to take up every spare inch of floor space. We just handle the challenges as they come. No one here wears a suit, that is for sure. We are usually covered in a bit of grease or metal dust by the time five o’clock rolls around. It is a practical place for practical people. Most of our neighbors in the estate are doing the same thing, just trying to get through the day's production and keep things moving along.
