Our place is in the Mahalaxmi Industrial Estate, specifically at unit 9/2. It’s located on D. Shivner Road in the Gandhi Nagar part of Lower Parel. This area is very industrial and old-school. There are always people moving carts and trucks trying to get through the narrow lanes. Inside our unit, it's pretty loud because of the machines. We have high ceilings, but it still gets stuffy when the sun hits the roof. We do a lot of creation and production work here. You’ll find piles of scraps and thread on the floor by the end of the day. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything. You just walk in and see everyone working. It’s a gritty part of town, but it’s where things get made. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know the tea stall guy around the corner very well. The work is mostly about getting the orders finished and making sure the quality is decent. We don’t talk about missions or visions; we just talk about what needs to be shipped out by Friday. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we all have to take a break until it comes back on. It’s just the way things go in this part of Mumbai. We are just a group of people making things in a busy industrial estate, trying to keep up with the pace. It is a lot of hard work but we enjoy being here.
