Jeevan Jyot Hospital

Our hospital, Jeevan Jyot, is located in the building of the same name right in Ghatkopar West. We are almost directly opposite the railway station, so the sound of the trains is something we have all grown very used to over the years. It’s a busy part of town, and being so close to the station means there are always people moving outside our windows. The building itself is older, with those heavy doors that take a bit of effort to push open. Inside, we keep things simple and functional. There aren't any plush carpets or fancy art pieces; it is just a hospital with white walls and lino floors. We spend our days coordinating between the different floors and making sure the patients have what they need. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the small breakroom because someone is always needing something. We have had to replace the sign outside a few times because of the monsoon rains, but everyone knows we are here anyway. The staff is a mix of people who have been here forever and a few newer faces. We don't bother with corporate slogans or big promises. We just open the doors in the morning, do the work, and close up when the night shift takes over. It’s a practical way to run a place in such a hectic part of Ghatkopar.
